In a promising development for affiliate marketers, Dutch Travel Bloggers recently received updates from both Daisycon and AWIN, highlighting significant efforts to enhance their affiliate tracking systems. AWIN has introduced the Conversion Protection Initiative (CPI), designed specifically to address tracking inaccuracies and ensure fair compensation for affiliate partners.
The CPI, launched earlier this month, mandates server-to-server (S2S) tracking and accurate in-app measurement for transactional apps. According to AWIN, this initiative has already resulted in more than 600,000 additional sales and $3.5 million in correctly allocated commissions. Detailed information about AWIN’s initiative is available here.
This shift is timely and critical, reflecting concerns we have repeatedly raised at Dutch Travel Bloggers. Last year, we openly discussed the affiliate marketing industry’s significant tracking issues, urging greater transparency and reliability from affiliate networks and advertisers. Our previous analyses and commentaries can be reviewed here:

We commend both Daisycon and AWIN for taking proactive steps toward resolving these critical issues. However, we also recognize that this is merely the beginning. There remains a considerable journey ahead to establish fully reliable tracking systems and to rebuild affiliate marketers’ trust.
As a community, Dutch Travel Bloggers will continue to monitor developments closely, advocate for ongoing improvements, and maintain our collective push for greater transparency and fairness within affiliate marketing.
Together, we can foster a stronger, more trustworthy affiliate ecosystem.
