Stay22 Review After 14 Months: The Numbers

Most Stay22 reviews you find online are written right after the author switched. It makes sense, because that’s the moment when the difference feels the biggest. We did the same ourselves, in September 2025, after four months of using Stay22.

For anyone who doesn’t know Stay22 yet: it’s an affiliate solution for accommodations. You place a script on your website once, and it automatically converts existing and new links to hotels and accommodations into affiliate links, spread across multiple booking partners at the same time. We switched to Stay22 ourselves and wrote our first review after four months. This is the follow-up.

Affiliate marketing isn’t new to us. We’ve written before about 10 ways to earn money online while traveling and about how we built our own passive income. Stay22 is now one of the biggest building blocks in that.

The numbers, in black and white

We went through every transaction from the past 14 months, from the first booking up until today. No rough estimates or guesswork, just the raw data from our own Stay22 dashboard, month by month, side by side.

The result: our revenue in the most recent quarter is on average 146% higher than in the first three months after switching. We went from an average of around $470 a month to over $1,160 a month.

Added up over the full 14 months, the total comes to more than $10,000 in commission. All from a script we installed once and then left alone.

Why our Stay22 revenue kept growing

A few factors play a role here:

  • The Let Me Allez script keeps learning. The AI behind Stay22 gets better and better at recognizing when and where to activate for the best conversion. The longer the script runs on our site, the more accurately it reads visitor behavior, and the higher the conversion gets, without us having to change anything.
  • More content, more conversion points. Every new travel route or destination guide we publish gets picked up automatically by the script.
  • Seasonal patterns. Summer months clearly perform better, which makes sense with more bookings for European destinations.
  • A growing platform. Stay22 raised a $122 million growth investment from Summit Partners in early 2026, specifically to further build out its infrastructure for creators. It also expanded its accommodation offering in Asia.

The Stay22 community is growing too

When we started, we had a small group of 10 bloggers who switched through our referral link. By now that’s 121, and 62 of them have already hit the 100-bookings bonus, more than half of our members. Together, that’s $18,600 in bonuses paid out to our community so far.

On top of your regular commission on every booking, you normally get a one-time bonus of $100 at 100 bookings. Through our link, that bonus is $300. We’re giving away most of our own referrer bonus, which makes our code stronger than any other referral link out there.

New features that make the story even stronger

Stay22 hasn’t been standing still since our last review.

  • A redesigned dashboard. The Stay22 Hub got an update with better filter options and clearer date selection, making it a lot easier to keep track of everything.
  • YouTube x Stay22 integration. A new, still early feature analyzes your YouTube videos and recognizes hotels that appear on screen or get mentioned. Affiliate links are generated for them automatically. We’re testing this ourselves right now and see room for improvement, but the idea is promising for anyone who makes a lot of video content.
  • Expansion into retail. Stay22 launched a separate branch that recognizes shopping intent on your pages and directs visitors to relevant product offers. In 2025 this already generated $80 million in revenue, mostly with major US retailers like Walmart and Nike. For a European audience the direct impact is still limited, but the signal is clear: Stay22 is expanding into other sectors, and a rollout to European retailers looks like a matter of time.

Independent research confirms these findings

That our experience isn’t a coincidence also shows up in broader research. Stay22 and Travel Massive surveyed more than 500 travel content creators in 56 countries about their revenue models. Two findings stood out to us: affiliate sales is the main income source for 61% of creators, and Stay22 is used by 90% of affiliate users, by far the most popular network in the sector.

We wrote a separate article about this research, with all the numbers: Stay22 research: what 500+ travel creators worldwide earn.

Frequently asked questions about Stay22

  • How exactly does Stay22 work? You place the Let Me Allez script on your website once. That script automatically recognizes existing and new links to hotels, accommodations and tours, and converts them into affiliate links via Stay22. Visitors still land on Booking.com, Expedia or Hotels.com as usual, only the tracking runs through Stay22.
  • What’s the payout threshold for Stay22? The standard threshold is $100. Commission is typically credited about 7 days after the guest’s check-out, after which a payout lands in your account within roughly 30 days.
  • How much commission do you actually get? Stay22 works with a commission split starting at 30% of what they themselves receive from the booking partner, and you earn that on every booking. Through our referral link you also get a one-time bonus of $300 once you hit 100 bookings, on top of your regular commission.
  • Is Stay22 reliable? Stay22 has been active since 2016, is based in Montreal, and raised a $122 million investment from Summit Partners in early 2026. For us, our own 14 months of experience weigh heaviest: consistent, growing income without manual work.

Thinking about switching yourself?

Our experience is clear: switching to Stay22 was one of the best decisions we made for our income.

By default, Stay22’s referral system works like this: on top of the regular commission you already earn on every booking, the new signup gets a one-time bonus of $100 once they hit 100 bookings, and the referrer gets $500 on top of that in return. Anyone who signs up through our link gets a bonus of $300 instead of $100, on top of the normal commission. That means we give away most of our own referrer bonus to the people who join through us.

Sign up through our referral link. No complicated setup, no fine print, just the strongest terms we could arrange.
